GREENWICH, New York — A boy has died after being pulled from a snow bank in Greenwich, New York, WTEN reported.

Police received a call for two missing 12-year-old boys around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The boys were playing in a snow bank while a plow truck was working in the area.

A police dog found the sled the boys were using and crews began digging.

One of the boys was found unresponsive and rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The other boy was conscious. He was responsive and talking at the hospital.

It’s unclear if the boys became trapped after the snow fort they were making collapsed or if the snow plow buried them in the snow.

The boy who survived told police he heard what sounded like machinery and then it went dark.

The incident is under investigation.
