BARBERTON, OH - Barberton police have confirmed that an arrest has been made in a fatal hit-and-run accident that took the life of a 27-year-old man.

Police tell Fox 8's Kevin Freeman that 38-year-old Carl Sapper of Barberton was arrested Wednesday evening. He is charged with a felony count of not stopping after and accident involving an injury to a person. Police also report that more charges could be following the initial charge.

Scott Hollifield was walking with a friend near the intersection of Van Buren Street and Lincoln Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on November 30, when he was struck by a car that never stopped.  Hollifield's friend was unhurt. Hollifield suffered serious head injuries and had been hospitalized in intensive care until his death on December 6th.

Sapper will be in court Thursday.
