BARBERTON, Ohio -- A 27-year-old man who was critically injured after being struck by a car last month, has died, his family confirmed to Fox 8's Kevin Freeman.

Police say Scott Hollifield was walking with a friend near the intersection of Van Buren Street and Lincoln Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on November 30, when he was struck by a car that never stopped.  Hollifield's friend was unhurt.

Investigators said the only description they had of the car was a smaller, dark-colored vehicle.  The car has damage on its passenger side, and its passenger-side window was broken.

Hollifield was a member of Army National Guard.   He suffered serious head injuries and had been hospitalized in intensive care until he died on Tuesday.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Barberton police at (330) 848-6703.
