CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Familial DNA led to the arrest of a Lorain man in the abduction of a Cleveland girl in May and the attempted abduction of an Elyria girl last February.

Justin Andrew Christian, 29, was arrested Friday on charges of kidnapping and rape.

“Detectives and agents have worked this case tirelessly for the last seven months and we are pleased to announce an arrest in this case,” said Cleveland Division of Police Calvin D. Williams in a press release. “With this suspect behind bars, our children are safer.  This case could not have been solved without the partnered effort of all of these agencies.”

The FBI has been searching for the man since May.

Hundreds of agents and police officers across the state have worked on the case. The FBI released surveillance video of the kidnapper and his car in previous months.
