BARBERTON, Ohio-- Barberton police are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian and kept going.

Police said 27-year-old Scott Hollifield was struck near the intersection of Van Buren Street and Lincoln Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Friday. A second man, walking with the victim, was not injured.

Investigators said the only description they have of the car is a smaller, dark-colored vehicle.  The vehicle has damage on its passenger side and its passenger-side window was busted out.

The Hollified’s father told FOX 8 that his son, a member of the Army National Guard, has serious head injuries and is hospitalized in intensive care.

The family set up a GoFundMe to help with expenses.

Anyone with information is asked to call Barberton police at 330-848-6703.
