Suspect arrested in Cleveland Heights hit-and-run that injured 10-year-old

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio– Police arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that hurt a 10-year-old boy in Cleveland Heights.

Jeremy Boone, 25, was charged with aggravated vehicular assault, which is a third-degree felony. He turned himself in at the police department Monday morning.

Cleveland Heights police said a 10-year-old was walking across Lee Road in a marked crosswalk when he was struck. It happened on Nov. 23 at about 5:40 p.m.

The suspect, who was driving a Chrysler PT Cruiser, left the scene, police said.

The victim suffered injuries to his head and legs. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.

According to police, Boone’s car was also recovered.
