Lorain County man fatally struck by car as he walked his dog

BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP, OH –  A Brighton Township man was struck by a car and killed as he was walking his dog Monday evening.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol tells Fox 8 that Michael Richley, 51, of Wellington in Brighton Township, was crossing State Route 18 around 5:30 p.m. right in front of his home when he was hit by a car travelling eastbound.

Richley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car that hit him was not injured.

The Patrol reports that speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in this accident. They are continuing to investigate it.
