Man dies after shooting on Interstate 90 in Cleveland

CLEVELAND– A man who was shot while driving on Interstate 90 near Dead Man’s Curve in Cleveland Friday evening has now died.

It happened at around 4:45 p.m. on I-90 westbound before the Shoreway split. Witnesses told police someone in a Jeep fired shots into the victim’s car before driving away.

The victim, a 24-year-old man,  lost control and crashed into a utility pole North Marginal Road; his car came to a stop against a fence bordering Burke Lakefront Airport.

Cleveland police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died from his injuries at MetroHealth Medical Center.  The man’s 26-year-old passenger was not injured.

The case is now being investigated as a homicide.  Anyone with information is urged to call the Cleveland Police Department.
