Woman arrested after Akron police say she hit boyfriend with car during argument

AKRON, Ohio– A woman was arrested after police say she struck her boyfriend with her car during an argument.  He later died.

Akron police say at around 1 a.m., Friday, officers responded to a report of a man down in the driveway of a house on Oakland Ave.

When officers arrived, they say Thomas Holcomb, 41, of Cuyahoga Falls, appeared to have life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Akron City Hospital where he passed away at just before 10 a.m. this morning.

The victim’s girlfriend, Angelique Santa, 34, told police she and Holcomb were arguing when she backed out of the driveway and struck him with her car.

Santa was charged with felonious assault and booked into the Summit County Jail. More charges are expected.
