ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Lorain is in custody after he refused to leave his vehicle in a Rocky River backyard Monday morning.

The Westshore Enforcement Bureau SWAT Team and officers from several other departments surrounded the vehicle, which was stuck in the mud behind a Colahan Drive home.

The situation was resolved shortly before 10 a.m. and the roads were reopened, police said.

According to the Rocky River Police Department, it all started with a shooting in Lorain around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

The Lorain Police Department would not release details of the shooting.

Lorain police chased the suspect through several west-side communities before the vehicle ended up in the backyard of the Rocky River home.

People living in at least three nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution, Rocky River police said.
