RAVENNA, Ohio– She was once abandoned. Now, she’s preparing to be a mom in her new home.

Sophie the pig was rescued by the Humane Society of Elkhart County in Indiana and brought to Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary in Ravenna.

According to the rescue, two pigs were left behind when their owner moved. They didn’t have food or water, and Sophie’s partner did not survive.

“We are honored to not only take in this sweet little girl, but to also help bring her babies safely into the world with loving care,” Happy Trails said.

Jessica Cvelbar of Enjoy the Ride Photography did a photo shoot with the mommy-to-be. Sophie even has a baby registry on Amazon with items like pet feeding bottles and flannel blankets.
