Cavs express deepest sympathies to Channing Frye after his mother passes away

CLEVELAND —  The Cleveland Cavaliers organization has expressed its deepest sympathies to Channing Frye and his family following the death of his mother.

The Cavs said Karen Mulzac-Fyre passed away Thursday night after a long battle with cancer.

Channing did not travel with the team to Toronto for the Cavaliers game against the Raptors Friday night. He will not be with the team in Cleveland for the home game vs. Orlando Saturday night.

His status will be updated at the appropriate time.
