CLEVELAND -- The aunt of a Cleveland man charged in the slayings of three people at a Warrensvile Heights barbershop is now facing an obstruction charge stemming from an interaction with a relative of one of the jurors.
LaSandra Johnson was arrested on the obstruction charge Friday. She allegedly talked to a relative of one of the jurors on Douglas Shine Jr.’s case. The juror was dismissed.
It’s not known when Johnson may be in court.
Shine Jr. , 21, is charged with aggravated murder and several more counts in the February 2015 murders at Chalk Linez Barber Shop on Harvard Avenue. Three other people were injured.
Shine also is facing charges in two other shootings, which allegedly targeted one of the men who was later shot at the barbershop.
Shine has pleaded not guilty. His trial started last month in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.
Officials said Shine is part of the Heartless Felons gang and the shooting was gang-related.
Shine was released from prison in December 2014 after serving two years on robbery and weapons charges.
