WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Two teen robbery suspects were arrested in Mentor after trying to break into several homes while leading police on a chase.

According to Willoughby police, on Tuesday officers responded to the parking lot of the Willoughby Professional Building for reports of a man who was just robbed at gunpoint.

The victim reportedly stepped outside the office building for a break. The two suspects had pulled their car into the office building’s parking lot when they noticed the victim sitting in his car.

One of the suspects, a 16-year-old, got of the vehicle, walked up to the victim’s car and pointed a gun at the victim. He ordered the victim to hand over his cash. The suspect then got back into the vehicle and fled with the second suspect,  Marcus Scott, 18.

A short time later, two Mentor police officers located the suspects’ vehicle in Mentor. After police stopped the car, the two suspects ran away, fleeing through several yards. One of them had a handgun.

Police eventually caught and arrested the suspects. They also located the missing handgun.

After making their arrests, police learned that several other agencies in Cuyahoga County have been investigating similar aggravated robbery incidents with similar suspect and vehicle descriptions.

Scott faces charges of aggravated robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The juvenile faces a charge of aggravated robbery.

The robberies are all still under investigation.
