Robbery suspect shot, killed by police in Westlake was carrying an air pistol

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- A robbery suspect shot and killed by Westlake police Monday was carrying an air pistol, according to the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

The man robbed the CVS at Detroit and Bradley roads at about 9:30 a.m. Monday. He crashed his car while fleeing.

Westlake police said shots were fired, and the suspect was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No officers were injured.

The suspect was identified as Devan Desnoyers, 26. Police said he is suspected in a string of CVS robberies in Lakewood, Cleveland and Olmsted Township over the last three weeks.

In the robberies, the suspect passed a note stating he had a gun, and he took opioids, police said.
