Richland County authorities issue heroin warning after six overdose deaths

MANSFIELD, Ohio– Authorities in Richland County want residents to be aware of a recent string of deadly drug overdoses.

The Mansfield Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Richland County Cononer’s Office and Richland County Prosecutor’s Office said there were six heroin overdose deaths in the county over the last several days.

At least four involved carfentanil, which is a powerful animal sedative.

“We ¬†urge families struggling with addiction to please reach out for help,” Mansfield police said in a statement.
