Man, 22, fatally stabbed in Warehouse District

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating the fatal stabbing of a man early Sunday morning in the Warehouse District.

Officers responded at about 2 a.m. to West 6th Street and Frankfurt Blvd., where an officer, who working a secondary job, saw two men in a dispute.

According to police, the 22-year-old victim had his hands in the air while the suspect, a 24-year-old man, was stabbing him in the chest and stomach.

The suspect ran, but the officer caught up to him when he tripped and fell.  A knife was found at the scene.  He was taken into custody.

EMS took the stabbing victim to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
