Services set for Euclid High School football player who died after injury during game

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Funeral arrangements have been released for a Euclid High School football player who passed away Sunday.

Andre Jackson, 17, was injured during Euclid's game against Solon on Friday night. He was initially treated by medical staff at the stadium, taken to the hospital and released Saturday morning.

He was taken to UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital Sunday and passed away. He died due to injuries from blunt impact to the abdomen.

A viewing will be held Friday, Oct. 7, from noon to 6 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home, 8608 Quincy Ave., Cleveland.

The service will be held at Starlight Baptist Church, 14516 Euclid Ave., East Cleveland, on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m.

Those who would like to make donations to help cover the cost of the arrangements can send a check or money order to Rogers Funeral Service (memo: Andre L. Jackson).
