Pregnant woman shot while getting tire fixed at Cleveland repair shop

CLEVELAND, Ohio– Cleveland police are investigating the shooting of a pregnant woman as she was getting a tire fixed.

Police say officers responded to an auto repair shop on Shaw Ave. at around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.

A 24-year-old woman had been shot twice in the chest. The owner of the repair store told officers the woman was at the shop getting her tire fixed when several gunshots were heard and the woman said she had been hit.

He took the woman to the back of the store and tried to stop the bleeding until paramedics and police arrived.

The woman, who is reportedly seven-months pregnant, was taken to the hospital. She’s in stable condition; the condition of her unborn child was not available to be released.

Witnesses reported seeing a light blue Chrysler in the area at the time of the shooting; bystanders said a man known as “Porky” may have been involved.
