OLMSTED TOWNSHIP- Don’t put your head in the sand the next time you think you see an ostrich running around your neighborhood.

That’s exactly what Olmsted Township police had to deal with Monday night.

Police tell the Fox8 OSTRICH…er…..ITEAM that they chased an ostrich in the area of Fitch and Cook Roads. Multiple officers were involved in the search for the large, flightless bird.

Witnesses in the neighborhood say the bird got loose from a nearby farm.

Later on, police reported that the ostrich had been returned to its home. No word on where it was originally headed.
