ASHLAND – Members of the Ashland community are holding a vigil for the victims involved in the abduction and murders in Ashland and Richland Counties.

Many people brought candles to honor the victims.

On Tuesday morning, a woman called from inside an Ashland home saying she had been abducted.

Police arrived, rescued the woman and arrested 40-year-old Shawn Grate.

Investigators discovered two bodies in the abandoned home. One victim was identified as 43-year-old Stacey Stanley. Grate then led police to another location in Richland County where a third body was found.

The other two victims have not yet been identified.

On Thursday, Grate was charged with one count of kidnapping and two counts of murder.

Ashland County Prosecutor Christopher R. Tunnell said the investigation is still in the early stages and more charges could be filed.
