ASHLAND, Ohio -- Charges are still pending against an Ashland man arrested after police discovered three dead bodies and a woman being held captive this week.

Shawn Grate, 40, is being held on a charge of abduction in the case. But more charges are expected.

Police were called to the area of 105 East 4th Street Tuesday morning after another woman said she was being held in a home there against her will.

They found her at 363 Covert Court in a home that was supposed to be unoccupied.

Grate was also there.

Search warrants were prepared for that home and a home next door, and while investigators were at the scene, the remains of two people were found.

Family members say Stacey Stanley, 43, was one of those two victims. She was last seen last week with a flat tire at a gas station just blocks from the scene.

Authorities say Grate led them to a second location in Richland County, where the remains of a third person was found near a burned house. That victim has also not been identified.

Police say the house was set on fire in June.

Thursday morning, the owner of the homes in Ashland was at the scene boarding them up.
