LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio-- The local former attorney accused of hypnotizing his clients pleaded guilty to six counts of kidnapping and one count of attempted kidnapping.
Michael Fine was arrested last year by Lorain County sheriff's officers. He was charged with 27 counts including kidnapping, sexual battery, gross sexual imposition and illegal use of a minor in nudity.
The case started in 2014, when a female client of Fine went to the Sheffield Village Police Department and told investigators that Fine had allegedly hypnotized her in order to perform sexual acts during meetings at his office to discuss a custody dispute. She eventually wore a hidden camera and microphone that the bar association says confirmed that Fine was using hypnotic techniques. A second woman came forward later with similar charges against the attorney.
Fine resigned his law license last year. He will be sentenced in November.
