Recently, one mother shared a few heartbreaking photos about her daughter on Facebook.

Kate Rhoades was diagnosed with high risk pre-b cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia when she was only 2. She lost her battle earlier this year.

This week, Kate’s mother shared a few photos on her Facebook page, Prayers for Kate.

In the post, she says “Kate should be starting kindergarten today. She should have been dropped off this morning with a new backpack full of supplies a cute new outfit on…and a bow in her hair.”

She goes on to talk about how cancer took away those opportunities and instead of taking Kate to school, she visited her at the cemetery.

The family launched Kate’s Cause after her death to help raise money for childhood cancer research.
