ELYRIA, Ohio-- Auggie has come a long way.

Someone spotted the dalmatian-bull dog mix in the area of East 31st Street and West River Road in Sheffield Village early last month. He weighed only 30 pounds and was unable to walk.

On Friday, the Friendship Animal Protective League in Elyria announced the rescued dog is moving into a foster home to finish his recovery.

Dr. Thomas Wood with the Lorain Animal Clinic told FOX 8 news in August it appeared Auggie had been starved and kept in a cage for months. He was about half his goal weight, making it one of the worst cases of neglect Wood said he's ever seen.
