AKRON, Ohio– A man is facing charges for a second suspicious incident involving women in Akron.

Andrew Hayes, 38, of Canton, broke into a house on Glenmount Avenue at about 7 a.m. Friday, Akron police said.

He stood over two females sleeping in the basement. Akron police said he tapped them on the shoulders to wake them, then ran out of the house. Officers arrested him running through backyards on Clinton Avenue.

Hayes was charged with burglary and taken to the Summit County Jail.

Earlier this year, Hayes was charged with menacing, criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. Police said he followed a woman home from the gym. The 29-year-old victim pulled into her driveway, where her husband, who’s a police officer, was waiting.

According to Akron police, Hayes walked up to the off-duty officer. The cop had his gun drawn as he ordered the suspect onto the ground. The two struggled and a neighbor helped put handcuffs on Hayes.
