Two accused of trying to steal riding mower caught by Richland County detectives

ONTARIO, Ohio– The Richland County Sheriff’s Office busted two suspects while they were burglarizing a house Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives saw David Scott Murray, 53, and Devi Celeste Jordan, 42, back a truck up to a home on Friday Lane in Ontario at about 2:15 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. They tried to take a riding lawn mower, then Murray broke into the house.

Detectives said they found him stealing a TV. He was taken into custody without incident.

Murray was charged with burglary, while Jordan was charged with complicity to commit burglary. They were taken to the Richland County Jail.

The sheriff’s office said anyone with information regarding other burglaries involving these two suspects should call the major crimes tip line at 419-774-5610.
