BROOK PARK, OH - One man is dead after a standoff in Brook Park Saturday night.

Police tell Fox 8 that they had been negotiating with the suspect after he barricaded himself inside a home on Richard Drive shortly before 7 p.m. The suspect had gotten in an argument with another man inside the home. The suspect shot the man, who was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. His condition is not known yet.

After six hours without any contact with the suspect, police sent in a robot, and the suspect was found dead. Officials say it appears the gunshot was self-inflicted.

Two children were in the home at the time of the initial shooting, but they were removed safely.

The suspect has not been identified yet.
