Nine people injured after car drives into crowd in Parma Heights

PARMA HEIGHTS - A large crowd was gathered, listening to music during a summer festival at Greenbriar Commons in Parma Heights when a car drove onto a small dance floor.

Parma Heights Police Detective Sgt. Steve Scharschmidt tells Fox 8 that a 74-year-old female was leaving a parking space and accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.

Nine people were injured.

Three were treated at the scene and 5 were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. One person was taken to University Hospitals in Parma.

Two people are in serious condition.
