Group discusses future efforts to increase Cleveland’s minimum wage

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland City Council rejected proposed legislation to raise the city’s minimum wage to $15 an hour Wednesday night. 

Raise Up Cleveland, a group who helped push for the measure, is holding a rally at City Hall to discuss the future of its effort.

City leaders previously said they were against the hike, fearing it could cause businesses to close or move.

Council says this was the final action on the proposal.
