ELYRIA, Ohio -- A man went on a shooting spree before leading police on a chase and taking his own life, according to Elyria Police.
In a news release, Elyria Police reported a shooting at Revere Lane just after 11 p.m. Sunday.
When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old woman, Kiesha L. Betton, inside. She was taken to University Hospital's Elyria Campus where she was pronounced dead.
Elyria detectives interviewed several witnesses and determine that the victim's boyfriend, Leonzo Bufford, 42, was the person responsible for the shooting. Police said Betton lived at the home with Bufford and her two teenage daughters.
Elyria Police said Bufford drove to S. Euclid where he shot two more people.
According to S. Euclid Police, Bufford shot two people inside a home on Winston Road just before 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Both victims were taken to the hospital. Their conditions were unknown early Monday.
Just before 2:30 a.m. Monday, Brathenal Police spotted Bufford's vehicle near I-90 and Eddy Road. Elyria Police said a chase ensued. The pursuit entered Cleveland where officers were able to stop the vehicle at MLK and E. 105th. That's when Elyria Police say Bufford shot himself in the head and died.
