AKRON, Ohio-- The man suspected of robbing several Akron-area stores and restaurants held up three more places Friday night.

Akron police said it appears to be the work of a serial robber, who covers his face with a mask or bandanna. Surveillance video of these incidents is not available at this time.

The first of the three robberies happened at about 3:30 p.m. at B & K Root Beer on Manchester Road. Police said the suspect was armed with a handgun and demanded cash.

Then at about 9 p.m. at the Dollar General on Brown Street, the man jumped over the counter and demanded money. When the employee opened the register, it was empty. The suspect got away without any cash while employees hid in a back room.

About an hour later, he robbed Mama Rosa's on Brown Street. According to police, the suspect counted down from 10 and threatened to shoot employees if they didn't open the safe. He took a metal box containing cash from the safe, as well as money from the register. The metal box was found in a nearby backyard.

He's robbed at least seven other businesses this summer.
