AKRON-An Akron man has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting and killing a man at an area bar.
The incident happened earlier this year on January 7, when Willie Hicks,45, got into an argument with Lentheric Caldwell at the Hi-De-Ho Lounge on Vernon Odom Boulevard in Akron.
Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh said the two continued to argue outside the bar. Caldwell went back inside while Hicks remained outside for a short period of time. About 10 minutes later, Hicks went back inside the bar, armed with a shotgun. Hicks eventually shot and killed 39-year-old Caldwell.
Hicks pled guilty to the crime and was sentenced to life in prison this morning. He will be eligible for parole after 18 years.
