Motorcyclist killed in early morning hit-and-run

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A motorcyclist was killed early Thursday after being hit by a car whose occupants left the scene of the crash.

The accident happened around 12:45 a.m. at Scovill Avenue and E. 55th Street.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, the motorcyclist — who has not been identified — was taken to St. Vincent Charity Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police said a man and three women were inside the car. They got out of the car and ran, but were caught a few blocks away at Scovill Avenue and E. 64th Street.

Police said the driver ¬†of the car — whose name has not been released — will be charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.
