Former officer killed in motorcycle hit-skip ID’d; suspect arrested

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the identity of the former Cleveland police officer who was killed in a motorcycle accident Wednesday.

Shani Dizard, 41, of Warrensville Heights, was riding a motorcycle when it was hit by a car that went left of center at the intersection of East 71st Street and Superior. Dizard passed away at the hospital.

A good Samaritan followed the car and was able to get a description for police.

Cleveland police said Thursday morning that the suspect, Porsha Harris, contacted police overnight and faces felony hit skip and aggravated vehicular homicide charges.
