CLEVELAND - Former Ohio Rep. Steve LaTourette has passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer, according to representative Jim Renacci's office.

He was only 62.

Back in 2012, LaTourette announced that he would not be running for re-election.

In 2015, he filed a lawsuit, claiming doctors failed to pass along critical information about a lesion on his pancreas and the need for follow-up monitoring.

Before he was elected to Congress in 1994, LaTourette became well-known as the Lake County Prosecutor who rose to fame with the Lundgren cult murders.
