CLEVELAND, Ohio — Syringes have been placed on the list of items prohibited at the Republican National Convention, according to police.

In response to rumors that officers had been stabbed with needles, Cleveland police tweeted Thursday that there have been no confirmed reports of any injuries from syringes.

The decision was made out of an abundance of caution.

Police did say at least two officers were treated Thursday for unknown skin irritations. One was treated and released, and the other is still being treated.
