Cleveland police Chief Williams: ‘We’re on top of everything’

CLEVELAND - Cleveland police held a media briefing to discuss what has been happening throughout downtown during the Republican National Convention.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Calvin Williams said Monday and Tuesday were relatively quiet with only 5 arrests.

During Wednesday night's briefing, Chief Williams said that 17 people were arrested and two officers were assaulted.

Of those arrested, 2 people were charged with felonies for assaulting the officers. Neither sustained any serious injuries.

The other 15 people were charged with misdemeanors.
