NORTH CANTON - Zach Herrera, a football player at Hoover High School who has been fighting for his life, has been taken off life support, according to a close family friend.
Tim Swanson tells Fox 8's Dave Nethers that Zach's family decided to let him pass after speaking with doctors.

His friends, teammates and family members have been given time to say goodbye.
Back in June, Zach was rushed to the hospital, where staff determined he suffered from a rare condition involving tangled vessels and arteries in his brain. Doctors told the family he most likely had it since birth.
Zach underwent two surgeries over the last few weeks, but remained on life support.
Swanson set up a GoFundMe page, which has raised nearly $20,000. The money will go towards Zach's medical expenses.
Swanson said there will be a service open to the public, but no arrangements have been made.
