DALLAS, Texas — Celebrities and public officials are responding on social media to last night’s sniper attacks in Dallas.

Shooters killed five officers during protests against police in downtown Dallas, marking the deadliest single attack on U.S. law enforcement since Sept. 11, 2001.  It happened as demonstrators marched against the shooting deaths of two African-American men by police in Louisiana and Minnesota.

A total of 11 officers were shot.

Three suspects were in custody, and a fourth was killed in a standoff with police.

Social media is filled with tributes and messages, and several hashtags were trending Friday morning, including #Dallas and #PrayForAmerica.
