CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Board of Control has approved changes regarding protest regulations during the Republican National Convention.

The city and the ACLU have been working on new protest routes following a settlement.

A federal judge decided last week the existing rules were too restrictive for protesters, but Cleveland argued that police needed strict rules in place to maintain security.

A new protest route has been mapped out, and the hours for protesting are also being extended.
