FORT IRWIN, Calif. – Staff Sergeant Justan Sjostrom, with the Bravo Company 1/145th AR RGT, sent Fox 8 a photo of he and many other soldiers celebrating the Cavaliers NBA Championship all the way from Fort Irwin, California.

Sjostrom said they are finishing up a rotation at the National Training Center, which is located near Death Valley and has some of the roughest climate and terrain in the world.

After finishing their rotation, Sjostrom said they were tired and worn out.

They had just wrapped up 14 days of grueling and rigorous training and were in need of a boost; that’s where the Cavs came in.

Fortunately, they were all able to catch the end of Game 7 on Sjostrom’s phone. He said every soldier was screaming, jumping around and high-fiving each other.

Thankfully, they were able to finish out their training in high spirits, despite not being able to be home to celebrate with Cleveland at the parade.

He said that they should be heading home soon and can finally celebrate with family and friends.
