Starting Friday and Saturday, June 24-25, from 10:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 26 from 10:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. anyone can come and find a new four-legged friend to take home.

The event is free and will have food trucks, entertainment and more.

All adopted dogs are spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter.

That is included in the $40 adoption fee along with vaccines for a year, a dog license, microchip, adoption packet and goodie bag.

Adoption fees at the shelter are usually $95.

The shelter is located at 9500 Sweet Valley Drive in Valley View.

Also starting on July 1, the county is offering ‘dog license amnesty’ and anyone who hasn’t purchased a dog license in 2016 can do so in July for no penalty fee.

License cost is $20. They can be purchased at the shelter, area Drug Marts, the Animal Protective League, the City of Cleveland kennels or the County Fiscal Office in downtown Cleveland.
