COPLEY - Police are hoping that surveillance video will help them locate an eyeglass thief who may have targeted two stores in the Akron area.

One video from the early morning hours on June 13th show a hooded figure going through frames at Handel Vision Center in Copley, taking high end frames.

He drove through the building with his car, shattering the glass.

Within 3 minutes, he took 51 frames and 11 pairs of sunglasses.

Looking through video from the day before, police found footage of a man dressed almost identically trying on glasses at the store without an appointment.

He is now described as a person of interest.

Police also gathered some paint chips and believe the suspect vehicle could be silver with back end damage.

Investigators are trying to see if this robbery is connected to one at a nearby Akron Optometrist's office.

Anyone with information should contact Copley police.
