AKRON- Several hundred people are gathered in the LeBron James Arena at James Alma Mater, St. Vincent St. Mary hoping to 'witness' history.

Before the game fans in the auditorium were told that they were expected to generate enough energy that LeBron James would hear them from California.

School President Tom Carone joked with the fans that throwing of mouthpieces will not be tolerated

Athletic director Willie McGee tells Fox 8 that, "it's a great night".

"They have given Northeast Ohio something to be proud of, there's a lot of teams that wish they were here right now."
McGee said witnessing this in LeBron's house is a special moment, hoping to bring their famous alumni some "luck of the Irish"
