The shelter’s big Tails on the Town fundraiser has finally arrived. The event will take place on June 18 on the rooftop of The Velvet Dog, 1280 W. 6th St.

The event features chefs Eric Williams and Rocco Whalen as well as local firemen Tim V. and Mike G. for the celebrity bartending face-off, ‘Fighting Fire with Fire.’

There will be a DJ, Sixth City Trivia, a silent auction and lots of door prizes. Tickets can be purchased on the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter website or in-house. They are $25 each. They include two drink tickets and food.

Then, June 24-26, the shelter will host its annual Adopt-A-Palooza. On Friday and Saturday that weekend, the shelter will stay open until 8 p.m.

Adoption fees during that event will be $40 — and include the dog license, microchipping, first set of vaccinations, spay/neuter and rabies shot.

Adoption fees at the shelter are usually $95.

The shelter is located at 9500 Sweet Valley Drive in Valley View.
