STRONGSVILLE, Ohio– A local animal rescue group is helping save hundreds of orphaned dogs left to roam the streets in Istanbul, Turkey.

Golden Retrievers In Need rescued two dogs from Turkey in April. They were named Scarlet and Grey.

One of the dogs has found a forever home.

“Every Turkish Golden Retriever we can get into rescue in America will mean a huge improvement in the dog’s life. This endeavor will support our mission of finding forever homes for rescued golden retrievers, giving those displaced goldens a new beginning,” a statement from G.R.I.N. said.

G.R.I.N. is having a fundraiser on Sunday, July 10 from 12-3 p.m. at Oak Grove Pavilion in the Brecksville Metro Park for a very special “I Scream” Social where beloved canine family members will be celebrated, and money will be raised to rescue up to eight more Golden Retrievers from Turkey.

If you are interested in helping with this initiative, you can make a donation. All donations to G.R.I.N. are fully tax deductible. Send in your check or money order payable to G.R.I.N. to:
