MIAMI – Selena Gomez got very emotional during a performance at her concert in Miami on Saturday night.

Gomez, whose stepfather was manager to Christina Grimmie, talked about their relationship.

Grimmie was shot and killed after a concert Friday night in Orlando.

“When she was 14, we met her, and my parents and I signed her,” Gomez said after her performance of  “Nobody” during her Miami concert at the American Airlines Arena. “One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her. And I think it’s not about a religion and it’s not about… good deeds. It’s just that she had faith, and I don’t really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this next song to her.”

According to E! News, Gomez canceled her meet-and-greet with Miami fans, which would have been outside after the concert.

On Saturday, Gomez’s stepfather Brian Teefey created a GoFundMe account in her honor.

As of Sunday afternoon, it had raised more than $90,000.
