Officials investigating after one person killed in Wayne County crash

CONGRESS TOWNSHIP – One person was killed after a two-car crash in Wayne County on Saturday.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after noon at the US 42 and County Road 111 intersection.

OSHP reports that a 55-year-old male was driving south on US 42 approaching County Road 111. In another car, a 57-year-old woman was traveling east on County Road 111 and had been stopped at the stop sign.

She failed to yield as the man’s car came through the intersection, striking her car.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male and his passenger were taken to the Lodi Hospital for treatment.

Everyone was wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
