CLEVELAND, Ohio -- If you ask Lauren Wright, political scientists have failed to recognize the political importance of the president's spouse.

But the author wrote a book called "On Behalf of the President: Presidential Spouses and White House Communications Strategy Today" that focuses on the first ladies of the past three administrations.

She spoke with Fox 8 anchor Kristi Capel about the increasing role the first lady plays in boosting presidential policy and popularity.

She even talked about the role former president Bill Clinton could play as a presidential spouse should Hillary Clinton get elected as the next president.
